  • Flashcom Components: Dungeons & Dragons Tools

I’ve been working on these components as a fun side project the past 2 weeks. As usual, I’m bored and want to do something else. I’ve included docs (a ton) on why you should care, what they are, and how they are made.

    Benefits:
    – neat (I think) use of cell renderers
    – easier way to get avatar chat via above
    – using AS2 + Flash MX 2004 components + Flashcom Components together
    – free components & code!

The docs are in order, so if you actually take the time to read, I suggest you do in order since that’s how my thoughts actually came out, and therefore is your only hope in following.

Since the documentation is a book, I couldn’t make it a blog entry… just too big. Therefore, if you have any comments, please comment in this entry here.

  • Flashcom Admin API Wrapper Class

After getting a reminder for Central MX about John’s FCS Monitor, I realized I probably wouldn’t ever touch mine again. My attention span gets short really quick when this stuff gets boring. I’m sorry, but it’s tough having fun making an admin app for Flashcom administration… I just couldn’t get that jolt of, “MAN, this is gonna ROCK!”. Props to John.

At any rate, I doubt he used it in his since by the time I was done, he was already 60% done with his concept app. However, SOMEONE may be able to use this… who knows. Another failed idea added to the file heap. Having 600 megs rox!

  • Flashcom Bible: My Chapters Donated to the Community

I haven’t heard back from Wiley. I told them I’d be releasing this Monday, but figured I’d give them all day. No word.

The rate of decay and time of usefulness on these chapters is small, so the sooner the community has access to them, the better.

I’m sorry there wasn’t something I could do to facilitate this book coming out sooner ladies and gents; those minute times I had working with fellow writers & the editors, it was pretty cool, but the communication, from what I heard of others experiences, was a cluster flizz-narge, and it was not to long after the fall of Friends of Ed and friends where publishers were working on obtaining existing projects, so were busier than normal and stretched being their usual thresholds, I’m sure. However, I never heard back on the status of the project, nor got paid, nor got a response to me asking about giving these chapters away today.

At any rate, hopefully this helps some of you in your Flashcom projects. Here are the 4 chapters I wrote for the vaporware book:

    – Chapter 16: Creating Flash Communication Server Components
