Good info over at <a href=”http://www.zoode.org/b2/index.php?p=48&c=1″>Zoode Blog</a> about WordML, the XML format for new Word documents in Word 2003.
If this were to happen to Powerpoint, Flashcom development would blow the f$%(* up. One can only dream and use 3rd party progs for now (unless Breeze has it’s own parser in which case you’ll have to dish out mad dough).
I’m sick of XML, I swear I want to put it on bread, and then feed it to a Lion at the zoo and be done with it, but then something like this stirs on the horizon, and your like, “Dude, Flash can read XML!”, and ideas start flowin…
I haven’t investigated if this could even happen, nor do I feel like it, but it’d be nice to know if its a possibilty or if I should just go on the same route I’ve been on in the Flashcom front.
Just got a note from my editor stating that they are dropping my chapter. They attributed it to page count, but I know it was from my continued emails stating lack of interest, laced with negative connotations. Of course, I received it in the middle of writing a follow up email saying that I could buckle down over the weekend to finish up the loose ends. Regardless, I promptly deleted my draft.
One down, two to go…
Or so it seems. The further retreatment I take from the industry, I still get the same amount of emails requesting I do something. Hopefully by October, I’ll be so far removed from all the Flash lists and forums that no one will even remember I exist. I can hibernate for the winter, and then bust some frikin caps in the Spring.
I still say “maybe” to all opportunities that arise, but unless it’s a walk in the park with a timeframe to match, shove it. I’m burnt, and there recently other areas in which it behooves me to spend my time. It may negatively affect others with my lack of help on the lists and forums, but in the long run it’s better for all.

That’s kinda odd… I remember the first 2 were local developers; you could submit stuff, and I came so close to doing so. I guess it’s the sponsors, eh? Looked on their site and no submission buttons…
Regardless, I’ve missed too many of these, and after missing the Eleven50 hosted one, I’m not gonna miss another. I’m so in need of experiencing design in Flash, it’s not funny…
