In reply to <a href="https://jessewarden.com/2015/03/sabled-sun.html/comment-page-1#comment-249230">Shannon</a>.

Totally agree with all your points.

There's a couple songs where he's like walking around in this mech walker thing talking to a computer... so maybe that's how he travels long distances in search of maybe food stores in bunkers? Yet on that same album, he opens this warehouse door with a dog barking... implying there's some shanty town or something.

There is still water in tunnels from the 2046 album so... SOMEWHERE there is water away from surface, but no clue if it's drinkable or even filterable with modern technology there.

Finally, those robots imply their creators left Earth looking for paradise. The 1st album implies mankind nuclear wintered the earth, but the 3rd album implies some evolved humans or visitors may have been involved. SO CONFUSING! I'd be nice to have answers/closure... not sure if that'd change my views of the music, though.

I just found this on Tunedin Radio and I've been enthralled with it for the past few days. It indeed does tell of a post apocalyptic survivor, but I keep asking myself, How is he surviving? If this end of the world destruction was man made or asteroid, then we would have to assume it's nuclear.

Our protagonist would never survive for three years in a subzero nuclear winter, an ashen atmosphere with very little oxygen, and barren land with no growth. So, what is he eating? Where is the clean water? But the biggest mystery of all is....Did he survive?

Will he go back into hyper sleep? Will he decide to succumb to hopelessness and do himself in? Will there be a 2048? Ugh....So many questions, so few answers!!
