Also I’m firmly positioned as a user – I really don’t have time to mess about trying to change the framework that I use as a tool. That would defeat the whole objective of the framework. After all, it’s supposed to be there to provide a kick-start towards building great apps, not as something that we should be fiddling with.

I’m satisfied with the ability to get at the source to the framework classes and monkey patch them if I really need to. I don’t need, and don’t have the time for open source.

I fully realize they can’t fix or accept everything but in my opinion there is very little confidence that community contributions will be integrated, so people have a why bother attitude.
