I dont know MS how to optimize their SL binary code in 2.0 after they put a lot of .Net controls in.

Actually, I will not expect a browser plug-in which is larger than a browser.

Jesse,

To your point about the potential with Blend / Silverlight in the agency world, there is a small problem.

Almost all of the agencies I've worked for (Blitz, Juxt, YR, saatchi & saatchi, wunderman, proxicom, DNA etc) are almost 90% mac based.

When I was the Technology Evangelist with Xamlon (preached .net to flash devs and flash to .net devs) most .net devs had the same reaction they had to the silver light presentation. It wasn't so much about what xamlon did, but what xamlon enabled .net folks to do.

I wish MS would have just exported to Flash instead of having yet another plugin and dealing with issues Flash Player resolved years ago. But i understand why MS would not want to put them selves at the mercy of a third party player.

Regardless, I'm still not installing the plugin. I'm personally not given any compelling reason to.

Phillip, hey dude long time!

Robin Debreuil and I use to work for a company called Xamlon that was a .NET to Flash converter. It seemed like an amazingly brilliant product but for whatever reason it was dropped in favor of an AJAX IDE that i never agreed with.

Its unfortunate because i felt there was more market potential for Flash and .NET peps to consider it but the decision was made during the peek of AJAX hype.

The pace at which Microsoft is stuffing money down people's pockets to adopt Silverlight is equally massive in proportion. I wonder when we'll see a cool Silverlight app that didn't require handing out bribes.
